My name is Ian Nickson and I am a freelance consultant based in Southampton, England. I provide website design, management, promotion and marketing services for small to medium sized companies. My objective has always been to simply create web sites that work for you.

I have worked with Mel Croucher since 1996, as part of Advanced Interactive Marketing Limited and then My-Reputation Limited, and these days under the MelCroucher.com banner. Our “greatest hits” include major internet projects for Vidal Sassoon, Norwich Union, Agent Research, Picture Palace, La Toya Jackson and many others.

In my own right, my clients range all the way from multinational engineering companies like Keison Products to causes that I support like Wiltshire Rape Support.

Here’s my background, starting from just before I linked up with my amigo Mel, who showed me that success is not measured by money and that work can be a pleasure if it involves people you like and clients who appreciate what you do.

+ Manager, Aladdin ISP 1993 - 1996
Based in Southampton, Aladdin was the South coast Internet Service Provider.  I installed and maintained advanced security systems, and managed the day to day integrity of the computer rooms. 

+ Engineering Manager to Director of Services, Comart Systems 1978 - 1992   
Comart was a network computer development and manufacturing organisation. Starting as Manager of their Service Department with a turnover of £140k, my responsibilities grew with the company until turnover reached £6.3m, and the company was bought out by Kode International Plc.  I tasked and managed all onsite staff and had direct dealings with major clients, including the MoD.

+ Project Manager, Cincinnati Milacron 1974 – 1978                    
I was Project Manager in both UK and US for the development and maintenance of control systems.

+ Systems Engineer, Hawker Siddley Aviation 1973 - 1974
I was part of the team that specified avionic systems for Nimrod aircraft.

+ Design Engineer, Standard Telephone & Cables 1971 - 1973
