Alysson Mclean grew up in London and moved to the South Coast to further her graphics studies. She successfully exhibited her digital artwork while still a student, and began selling her electronic creations before she gained a First-Class degree in Illustration at Portsmouth University.

After a world tour, Aly returned to London, where she joined the graphics and new media departments of the BBC. She became instrumental in the BBC national online service, providing the highest quality interactive services to stimulate learning and creativity at home and in schools.
